Workroom Giving Brands Purpose

Last week, the team at Workroom came together to celebrate the end of what has been a phenomenal year for us. We’ve done some great work together for our clients, and we wanted to take a moment to help others, while raising a glass to all that we’ve accomplished as a team.
As is customary, we kicked off the festivities with our annual volunteering day last Thursday 15th December, organised once again via the fantastic team at TimeBank. For the uninitiated, TimeBank is a volunteering organisation that, amongst other things, helps business donate time and staff to charitable projects.
This year, we chose to support the Hackney Food Bank, working at one of their warehouse locations in Stoke Newington. The Food Bank was in the process of having to relocate its warehouse and faced the enormous task of organising the move at one of their busiest times of the year.
Ten members of the Workroom team worked through the afternoon to pack food deliveries and help clean out the existing warehouse spaces, ready for a move of buildings. It was hard work, resulting in a lot of aching backs the next day, but a very rewarding experience, and a great reminder of all the good work that goes on in our community.
The following evening, was the annual Workroom team Christmas party. We managed to down tools at 5pm (somewhat of a minor miracle in itself), and we set off to solve the puzzles at Lock’d in Bermondsey. Lock’d hosts real life Crystal Maze style treasure hunt activities where teams of between 2 to 5 people must work together to solve the puzzle and get out of the ‘escape-room’ within 1 hour.
We split into two teams, to tackle our respective challenges and make it out first; we quickly discovered that each of us think in very different ways, and actually that mix of approaches is exactly what was required to solve the puzzles. As team bonding activities go, this was up there as one of the best, and we all felt like we’d learned something about each other at the end. Highly recommended!
