ElBulli was one of the most famous Michelin 3-star restaurants in the world – based in Catalonia, Spain and run by head chef Ferran Adria. The fundamental principle of Adria’s philosophy is to stop copying and start creating. And so he worked towards his prime goal – to cook dishes that were wholly his own.
The exhibition charts the course of the restaurant’s unique way of operating with a rich variety of multimedia, original recipes, especially designed culinary displays, research notes and even plasticine models for presentation quality control (which are pieces of art within themselves).
If you’re up for an overwhelming hit of creativity and inspiration, this exhibition is a must see!
Showing at Somerset House from 5 July – 29 September 2013.
