We’ve just helped RB kick off the Big Splash campaign – a challenge for RB employees to come up with great product design, manufacturing or consumer use ideas to reduce water impact. The winning ideas will be taken forward by the company – a new product, a new manufacturing process and a consumer behaviour project.
It’s part of betterbusiness, RB’s new sustainability strategy. In line with its promise to deliver innovative solutions to achieve healthier lives and happier homes around the world, the business has ambitious plans to reduce the water impact per dose of product across its lifecycle by a third by 2020.
The challenge was announced through a lift take over and installation at RB’s global headquarters in Slough. Attention-grabbing statistics on lift doors featured water usage facts from various angles of the business – from washing hands to product production – and then related directly to the internal volume of a lift. Inside lifts were ‘full of water’ along with details on how to enter the challenge.
Supported by many digital channels email, intranet, Yammer and posters that were distributed around the business, RB is currently considering the winner from over 400 ideas submitted across the business.
Water scarcity is a hugely important issue for us. And getting our employees excited about water is the first step in reducing our impact. The Workroom partnered with us on the original creative idea and execution – helping to successfully launch this critical topic in the business.
